High level of radiation detected in waste incineration in Akita. 7 workmen taken to a hospital


3 out of 7 workmen who was taken to a hospital from the waste incineration in Akita City suffers cardiopulmonary arrest, according to Kyodo News Service. 2 of them recovered consciousness. 
Later, Kyoto corrected the number of workmen who was taken to a hospital was 9. 
In the incineration, the high level of radiation was detected in the lead container in a scrap about a month ago, according to Mainichi Shimbun. 

"June 8, Akita City announced the high level of radiation was detected in the lead container in a scrap, which the City's Environmental Center had sold to a scrap business operation "Akita Rinko".

According to the city's environment department, the container measured 48.86 microSV/h. The measurement from 1-meter distance was 2.02 microSV. The container was sealed and content hasn't been identified. It is possible it contains radioactive material of some thousands Bq. " 
According to Akita Sakigake Shimbun, about 16:30 on July 10, the workmen fainted and the city's environmental center called ambulance. 
The local police said that the workmen fell down on the floor when they wiped off the soot on the 6th floor of facility in the center. 
According to an article of Akita Sakigake Shimbun of June 16, the waste incineration carried out fusion test of the radioactive rubbles from May 19 to 22. 272 tons of rubbles from Nodamura were processed in the facility.

According to Dr.Shuntaro Hida's tweet (by The daily olive news),  recently published Russian lucubration says that Cesium 137 is not slow-acting, but immediately damages the heart muscle. "I came to consider this can be associated with the cause of death of the workman who died of cardiac infarction. He was one of the first workmen who worked at the accident site, and died after 2 days."
